This is often the first step of the background process. Using information gathered through various credit headers, we are able to verify the legitimacy of the SSN and the candidate’s identity, as well as determine any alias names (maiden last names, alternate first names, etc) and/or jurisdictions in which to search (via address history) that may not have been previously disclosed.

County Criminal Record A search of criminal records at the county level, including both felony and misdemeanor charges. If results are found, they may include convictions, deferred sentences, direct dismissals (within 7 years of search date), acquittals (within 7 years of search date).

Federal Criminal Record A search of criminal records at the federal level. These are crimes in which the defendant was investigated or prosecuted by any federal agency (FBI, CIA, ATF, DEA, ICE, etc). Records found at the federal courts are not available at the county level. Common charges include – Wire Fraud, Mail Fraud, Drug Trafficking and Human Trafficking, S.E.C. violations, etc.

A criminal record search at the state level (not available in all states).  Statewide searches not available in all states.

Available at both the county and federal levels. A search of civil records can reveal civil judgments against the subject as well as any pending litigation which may constitute a contingent liability to the subject and/or the potential employer. This search may also reveal litigation filed for fraud or contract breaches which may not have been filed criminally.

A search of driving records through the relevant state that will confirm the status and legitimacy of a driver’s license, as well as disclose traffic violations. Due to differing privacy laws and other circumstances, the types of violations, age of records, and depth of information reported varies from state to state.

A verification of educational records, including dates of attendance, diploma(s), certificate(s), degree(s) earned.

A verification of employment history including Dates of Employment, Title(s) while employed, and Eligibility for Rehire (if disclosed by employer).

Credit Report including Open and Closed Accounts, Bankruptcy Filings, and some possible tax liens or judgments.

Direct Search of 45 National and International government databases and watch lists.
